Right now Planet Earth is our only home it is important for all humanity to pay attention and learn more get educated on what is happening to our planet and how they can take action at least to reduce the impact. Our planet is really ONE GLOBAL ECO SYSTEM, when it comes to the environment there are NO BORDERS. We are really ONE and the action of One impacts the whole.

Global Warming and Climate Change is NOW not in the future. Pay attention, learn all you can. Sharing with you a comprehensive video. Our planet is a living, breathing being, we must treat her with reverence and respect. When dealing with the environment there are no borders it is ONE GLOBAL ECO SYSTEM! http://tinyurl.com/c8r49va

Haiti’s New President Speaks at the U.N General Assembly

On Friday September 23rd Haiti’s new President, Mr. Michel Martelly spoke at the United Nation’s General Assembly. I am so please to see that he mentioned that addressing the urgent issue of deforestation and Global Warming is a top priority to the sustainable reconstruction of Haiti. I am so delighted that Haiti’s leadership is going in the right direction finally. It has always been Operation Green Leaves message from day one, and now for 21 years that “any sustainable reconstruction of Haiti must include restoring Haiti’s environment, specifically an agressive national reforestation plan.

Our Vision: A Green & Sustainable Haiti!

Peace & Blessings,

Keep the spotlight on HAITI, The people of Haiti deserve better.

3 months already since the catastrophic earthquake in Haiti, the raining season is well on its way and the people in the most affected areas ARE STILL WAITING for the promised help even though in the news we hear billions have been raised for the PEOPLE OF HAITI.  The % of help reaching the real victims is TOO LOW. In the news you see flashes of this internatinal group helping or this celebrity helping, but it is really a very small percentage of what is needed.  The funds have been raised, the knowledge and technology to really bring the assistance is available…WHAT’S THE HOLD-UP???

I get glimses of the REALITY in Haiti everyday from my partner grass roots organizations on the ground.  Some of them are in different regions of the country and their information is similar. They are tired of going from meetings to meetings in Haiti, tired  of getting promises that are not kept. They are than unable  help the victims.  One of them was promised tents, they told her record the names of all people in the area in needs of a tent and tarp. She does. When she is ready, she goes to the agency to give s her list and the person in charge of this supposibly reputable organization, leaves Haiti with no follow-up.  These are the  kinds of Stories i hear from our partners.  My message is: Please donate to smaller grass roots organizations that can get the Job Done or go volunteer and help them get back their life together. May be the larger organizations, Agencies and Government will catch up with the progress at some point.  I KNOW that God is in Haiti, I KNOW watching what is going on. The people of Haiti have suffered enough they deserve better.  THE NEED IS URGENT, THE RAINING SEASON IS HERE, NO ELECTRICITY, THE SUFFERING IS JUST TOO MUCH.  JUST IMAGINE IT COULD BE ANY OF US , WE WERE JUST BLESSED TO BE BORN IN A DIFFERENT COUNTRY.  WWW.OGLHAITI.COM FOR MORE INFO.

Original Lust-Table Furniture Art for Operation Green Leaves Fundraising Effort

Noted New York artist Paulette Lust completed her first piece of furniture art on November 11, 2008.

Responding to a ‘call for artists’ plea from Operation Green Leaves’ executive director Nadine Patrice, Paulette transformed a lovely wooden table into an original painting during a brief business trip to Miami.

Paulette was in Miami for Gallery Walk, November 8th, because she has her work on display at Art Fusion Gallery in the Miami Design District. On Monday, November 10th she drove to the Econo Equipment warehouse and began the painting. She returned on Tuesday, November 11th, to finish. The table will be on display, along with the work of other artists, during Art Basel Miami Beach 2008 as part of an Environmental Art Display in the Miami Mid-Century Gallery in the Wynwood Art District of Miami.

“My art is contemporary-primitive. It’s colorful, whimsical, easy to understand and fun to look at and enjoy. My blocks of color give you serenity as the eye travels easily from space to space,” she says on her website – www.LustforArt.com. Paulette Lust’s contemporary drawings are based on familiar moments and interactions of daily lives. Her art engages your imagination by communicating a vision and a sensitivity to the everyday. There’s something comfortable and secure about knowing and understanding what you are seeing. When Ms. Lust draws animals, it is to show their beauty, illuminate their innocence and playfulness, and to reflect the happiness they bring.

She calls her art primitive, because it’s spontaneous – not overworked, the first lines are always her best. You will love to live with her art. Ms. Lust’s unique style, contemporary-primitive, has earned her critical acclaim and an ever-increasing following among collectors. After working in many mediums, including oil and watercolor, she became fascinated by the ancient technique of painting on silk. Her original silk paintings have been exhibited successfully in one-woman art shows in galleries domestically and internationally.

Paulette Lust’s inspirations come from her extensive travels. Born in Lvov, Russia, she lived and traveled throughout Europe and the Middle East before settling in New York. Speaking four languages by the age of 12, Ms. Lust began her formal studies in art while studying at The University of Texas in San Antonio. She resides in Manhattan with family.

The goal of the Artoire Project is to sell the furniture and use the proceeds to plant trees in Haiti. Check out the Operation Green Leaves’ website for more information and pictures: www.oglhaiti.com.
